Care Package Update

Since our brunch event in December we’ve been working to source a great mix of items that we think families will find useful, helpful, supportive, and comforting while in the NICU. A lot of effort has been put in to find the right item at a good price so we can reach as many families as possible, while not sacrificing quality. We’re reaching out to companies in the hopes of forming a durable partnership for products of theirs we find particularly unique or played an important part in our journey.

We’re also beginning to reach out to local NICUs to discuss the logistics of storing and distributing the care packages, and develop a means of reporting back to us so we can measure our impact, receive feedback, and let all of you know how important and helpful your contributions are!

Early on we decided that the success of Leah’s Polar Hugs was going to be dependent on providing good information and results to our current and future supporters. HIE is largely an unknown thing to those who have not had it touch them or their families in some way (~3 per 1,000 births in the US). Our goal is to shed light on it for all of you and let everyone know how big of a difference we all can make!

Our upcoming Braids & Bubbles event will help make all of this a reality. We’d love to see you there!
